Being the first day of this week, I continued to go through the 5-2-1-0 toolkit. I was able to print out up to 2nd grade and read through it. Matching weekly themes into the overall monthly themes and objectives seemed easier this time. I was also able to log into Quiziz and Google more resources to make an interactive 5-2-1-0 game for the teachers to possibly potentially use in the classrooms. Having to research more of what was needed for the toolkit brought more perspective as far as applying knowledge and skills learned from my Health Promotion and Planning class I took last semester.
We had a CHEN meeting in the afternoon that dealt with a few upcoming events and feedback. We gave each other feedback on everyone’s specific tasks they are in the process of accomplishing. A main one was the summer program. I will definitely be attending. Things we discussed were children’s name tags, physical exercise in cafeterias, accomplishment certificates, prizes, and photo release issues when taking care of the kids. As these will be kids from ages 5 to 14, it will be a challenge. I look forward to learning to deal with this age group.
